So, I was speaking to one of my sorority sisters this weekend and we began talking about what type of shampoos to use. She was telling me about having a difficult time finding a best dry shampoo for African American hair, so I did a little research and here is what I have found.
Black hair has a very different texture; even though it is curly and dry it differs from other nationalities. For example, dry, curly hair on a Caucasian is completely different then dry, curly hair on an African American. It is very difficult to find a shampoo that helps the situation. Most shampoos that help dry curly hair are provided to Caucasian hair and most products for black hair are just inexpensive copies of name brand shampoos that don’t work. It’s difficult to find a dry shampoo that helps make black hair vigorously. So, I created some simple rules to help simplify what type of shampoo you need for your particular hair type.
The 4 Golden Rules for Black Hair Shampoo:
1). Find out what kind of hair you have? If you have dry hair find for a moisturizing dry shampoo developed just for black hair. Try to look a shampoo that is commonly based so that is does not have nasty chemicals that can harm the scalp or hair. If your hair grows absolutely slow you can use a shampoo that helps black hair grow speedy or use black hair vitamins. This is very important tips and you should consider this in choosing shampoos that you will be using.
2). Be smart and do research. Natural is perfect so make it clear when you look for a shampoo that has no silicones, glycols, or sulfates—all these ingredients do in the long run is uncover the scalp of its natural oils and dries out hair. While there is much available information when you ask for friends and others, it is always great to do some research, especially if it is about choosing the best dry shampoos to use.
3). Look for shampoos that have Aloe Vera (for moisturizing) and Jojoba Oil (which is a natural moisturizer). Look for shampoos with natural or botanical or essential oils that add bounce and shine; also look for treatment that will condition and detangle. Using this can greatly help you get the most beautiful hair ever and can make you feel better with your hair.
4). Wash at least one time per week. If you have a quality product that should be enough. However, follow that up with a hair vitamin to help your hair grow faster or a Jojoba Oil treatment to add moisture and you should be good to go. Many of us don’t know about washing our hair and how often we should wash it. Washing our hair many times can cause damage and not washing our hair can also damage our hair, so we must be aware what we will be doing in order to prevent additional problems in the future.
